Maybe it’s just because I spend a fair bit of time in car forums, but I see this misspelling a lot, so it’s one to watch out for… and I don’t think you can blame this one on your iPhone.
Brake (noun) – a device used to apply friction, usually to slow something down or prevent it from moving, like the brakes on your bike or the handbrake in your car. (verb) – make a moving vehicle slow down or stop by using the brake
Break (verb) – to separate into pieces, usually the result of strain or stress on an object.
Here’s one of my family’s favorite sloppy joe recipes, and it’s very simple to make.
Bloggers and Tweeters: please stop this juvenile misspelling!
Take note: “lose” is the opposite of “win”, whereas “loose” is the opposite of “tight”. They are not now, nor ever have been, interchangeable words.
Here’s a super quick recipe for a slow cooker roast that the whole family will enjoy. You can adjust the heat level for your kids (or your spouse) if you need, simply by changing the amount of chipotle in the spice rub.

I made this for a quick lunch today and realized it would make a good recipe post, so I snapped a quick photo before I made it disappear. Basically, it’s a grilled salmon with cinnamon, chili powder, and garlic. The thing is, it’s so quick to make, healthy, and flavorful that it meets lots of needs… and it really feels good in the engine before a run or a bike ride.

We are a big-time smoothie family. So much so that until we dropped the cash on a Blendtec blender, we would pretty regularly burn out food processors, submersible mixers, and cheapo countertop blenders.
Here is a kid-friendly smoothie recipe that I’ve been known to make in the mornings to get started, especially on workout days when the engine needs something to burn, but oatmeal or a bagel just isn’t going to do it.
